Tree of Life
24"x24" This painting/collage was inspired by the "tree of life." I had been thinking about cemetaries and how there are so many lives contained in these boxes beneath the ground, so many stories. I also was thinking about how life is so fragmented sometimes and memory can sometimes be like little snapshots, all mixed up. The tree to me is symbolic of the life/death/rebirth cycle that happens in nature and in many religions. The piece was constructed of paper collaged on canvas and acrylic paint.
